However, just when you believed you had witnessed every possible trend, the eccentric new halo brows made their debut…
Like many unconventional beauty trends, halo brows are a product of the wonderfully peculiar realm of social media. Platforms such as TikTok and Instagram have emerged as the primary incubators for trends that defy conventional beauty standards.
Halo brows – characterized by a halo-like arc that spans across the forehead, connecting both brows into a single loop – were conceived by Hannah Lyne, a 16-year-old influencer from Britain, whose innovative doodles quickly gained viral attention.
“My friend and I were discussing the fishtail brow trend, and that’s when we came up with this idea,” Lyne wrote in the caption of her Instagram post, where she unveiled the design that sparked both excitement and confusion among viewers.
In an interview with Pop Sugar, the beauty blogger clarified that this was not a mere joke, stating that the “look was inspired by fishtail brows.”
“I was chatting with a friend, brainstorming a new look, and suddenly it struck me that I should connect my brow tails,” she explained.
Further elaborating on her vision in a conversation with Yahoo Style, Lyne expressed, “I simply want people to embrace their silliness and explore unique, creative looks!”
‘Ridiculous’ fad
Similar to numerous trends that emerge on social media, halo brows have generated a wide range of reactions.
Certain Instagram users appeared to appreciate the design and commended Lyne’s creativity: “I love it!” comments one user, while another writes: “All of your looks are so original…Honestly your talent is endless!”
“How do you even come up with your ideas? They are so imaginative and you always execute them flawlessly! You are exceptionally talented,” expresses a third user.
Conversely, a significant number of internet users were quick to label the revamped unibrow as a “ridiculous” trend.
“Vomits Uncontrollably,” remarks one user in the comments section of Lyne’s Instagram post. “I can’t determine if she’s joking,” suggests another, while a third states, “Instagram? More like Instaregret.”
In contrast, others remarked that she appears “ridiculous,” and proposed that they are “deleting Instagram because of this photo.”
However, Cosmopolitan referred to the ‘heavenly halo brows’ as ‘strangely beautiful.’
