The beloved Freaky Friday actress has had her fair share of moments turned into memes over the years, and at 66 years old she seems to embrace the fun while often addressing them directly herself.
Known for her straightforward and witty personality, Curtis wasn’t about to let a viral clip slide without chiming in.
The video in question showed her speaking about Freakier Friday, the highly anticipated sequel to the 2003 hit film, which officially premiered in theaters earlier this month and has been creating a huge buzz ever since.
In the clip, the Oscar-winning actress was dressed in what she described as a costume representing her Freaky Friday character, Tess Coleman.
Curtis didn’t ignore the chatter. Instead, she joined in on the fun earlier this week by sharing her own post, which included a photo of herself striking a peace sign while wearing the same memorable outfit.
“HAPPY TO HELP SPREAD THE JOY THAT OUR MOVIE SERVES!”
The long-awaited release of Freakier Friday has also brought Curtis back together with Lindsay Lohan, reuniting the pair more than two decades after the original movie first hit screens in 2003. The reunion has been a nostalgic treat for fans who grew up loving the film.
“If I tell her something, it’s gonna stay with her,” she explained, before adding, “We’ve both been through hard things, ’cause we’re alive and life is hard. And we’re not dead yet. So the truth of our experience together, it belies all of the kind of showbizzy stuff.”
“We connected, and we really stayed connected. And that is special and rare for me.”
“Jamie was with me at a time in my life when I was going through a lot publicly. She was privately really there for me.”
She also recalled how Curtis often stepped in with advice and encouragement, especially during their original time working together on the set of Freaky Friday. Those lessons clearly stuck with her all these years later.
