Jamie Lee Curtis has responded after her latest outfit caught a lot of attention online, leaving fans saying they were ‘distracted’.

The beloved Freaky Friday actress has had her fair share of moments turned into memes over the years, and at 66 years old she seems to embrace the fun while often addressing them directly herself.

Known for her straightforward and witty personality, Curtis wasn’t about to let a viral clip slide without chiming in.

The video in question showed her speaking about Freakier Friday, the highly anticipated sequel to the 2003 hit film, which officially premiered in theaters earlier this month and has been creating a huge buzz ever since.

In the clip, the Oscar-winning actress was dressed in what she described as a costume representing her Freaky Friday character, Tess Coleman.

“Forgive me, I’m distracted,” one fan wrote in the comments section of the Instagram video shared by Disney Studios. The clip spread quickly, sparking a flood of memes and reactions across social media.

Curtis didn’t ignore the chatter. Instead, she joined in on the fun earlier this week by sharing her own post, which included a photo of herself striking a peace sign while wearing the same memorable outfit.

The Hollywood star captioned the photo with: “LOVE the fact that the LAST photograph of me as TESS taken backstage in costume from my surprise appearance at @elcapitanthtre to support #freakierfriday has gotten more attention than any other since the announcement post with @lindsaylohan that sparked the movie getting made!”

“HAPPY TO HELP SPREAD THE JOY THAT OUR MOVIE SERVES!”

The long-awaited release of Freakier Friday has also brought Curtis back together with Lindsay Lohan, reuniting the pair more than two decades after the original movie first hit screens in 2003. The reunion has been a nostalgic treat for fans who grew up loving the film.

In an interview with People last month, Curtis opened up about her friendship with her co-star, saying that Lohan is one of the few people she truly feels she can ‘trust’.

“If I tell her something, it’s gonna stay with her,” she explained, before adding, “We’ve both been through hard things, ’cause we’re alive and life is hard. And we’re not dead yet. So the truth of our experience together, it belies all of the kind of showbizzy stuff.”

“We connected, and we really stayed connected. And that is special and rare for me.”

Lohan echoed the sentiment, speaking warmly about her bond with Curtis and saying: “I have to feel safe around people. And Jamie is one of those people for me. Like, I feel very safe with you. I feel safe telling you things.”

“Jamie was with me at a time in my life when I was going through a lot publicly. She was privately really there for me.”

She also recalled how Curtis often stepped in with advice and encouragement, especially during their original time working together on the set of Freaky Friday. Those lessons clearly stuck with her all these years later.

“You said, ‘The way you show up to set every day depicts how everyone’s day is going to go. And you set the tone. So leave everything or anything that there may be at home’,” Lohan remembered, crediting Curtis for being a steadying presence and a guiding influence in her early Hollywood years.
